Chopping boards provide a clean, convenient space to prepare and cut food, including meat, bread, fruits, and vegetables.

The most common materials include plastic, bamboo, and wood cutting boards. The best chopping board for your needs will depend on your required surface area for the amount of food you’re preparing and your preferred cleaning and maintenance routine.

Our Chopping Boards Range

ABI Interiors offers a range of bamboo cutting boards to suit your unique kitchen needs. This includes both small and large chopping boards that will integrate into any space.

Single Chopping Boards

Our classic Bamboo Chopping Board is part of our essential series and is the perfect staple for food prepping at home. It is extremely durable and features a distinct groove that allows it to be securely positioned on top of our stainless steel sinks. It has a generous 450mm length, 300mm width, and 22mm height.

Chopping Board Sets

For those with greater food preparation needs, we also offer a 3-Piece Chopping Board set as part of our Entertainer Series.

The three compact chopping boards feature a 350mm length, 285mm width, and 20mm height. They sit in a stainless steel holder that is available in four finishes to match your space, including brushed brass, brushed copper, brushed gunmetal, and stainless steel.

The cutting boards and holder together form an interchangeable module that is designed to be used in our Ice Trough, alongside the Colander Insert, Bamboo Knife rack, and Draining Tray for an efficient entertaining experience.

Chopping Boards FAQs

What is the best material for a kitchen cutting board?

The best chopping board material is one that is easy to clean and won’t damage or dull your knives. Depending on your personal preference, the most common options include bamboo, wood, and plastic.

Bamboo and wood are extremely durable and keep your knife edges in top condition. They require more maintenance than plastic chopping boards, though, as they must be correctly sanitised to prevent bacteria from building up in the pores and oiled to maintain their longevity.

Plastic cutting boards have the benefit of being dishwasher safe, so keep this in mind when determining your preferred level of maintenance.

Are wood chopping boards hygienic?

Wood chopping boards are a hygienic option as long as they are properly cleaned and maintained.

How do you maintain a wooden chopping board?

After use, we recommend washing your wood or bamboo chopping board by hand with warm water and dish soap. It’s important to never soak a wooden cutting board in water, as this will cause it to crack and warp.

You should regularly apply a purpose-made oil to your bamboo or timber chopping boards. This will seal the pores in the surface which accumulate bacteria and helps condition the material to prevent it from drying out and becoming warped.
