Terrace on Palmy: Ellidy Pullin’s Vibrant Beach Shack With Contemporary Flair

Nestled along the quintessential Gold Coast suburb of Palm Beach (fondly known as ‘Palmy’ by locals), Terrace on Palmy effortlessly reinvigorates the classic beach shack aesthetic. With influencer and model Ellidy Pullin at the helm, the home is an exuberant display of her distinctive style — unexpected bursts of colour, playful modern furniture, and a nod to the original charm that defines this iconic stretch of coastline.
We sat down with Declan from Jace Space to delve deeper into the vision behind transforming this two-bedroom apartment into a year-round haven for holidaymakers.
Ellidy Pullin, known for her bold and eclectic approach to style, partnered with Jace Space to flip this humble, east-facing Palm Beach home into a vibrant escape that balances retro character with contemporary flair.
“The bones of the home were strong,” notes Declan, “so we focused on enhancing what was already there rather than starting from scratch.”
A simple coat of fresh paint and VJ panelling maintained the essence of the original structure, while thoughtful design choices, such as the unexpected interior house colours, injected personality throughout.
“With this project, we really wanted to have some fun, so you'll notice a lot of colour throughout.
“We also put in a big, four-metre bifold set of doors, which let in a lot of natural light because it's facing straight east.”
While the kitchen gleams with its sunny yellow tiles, the bathroom is a coastal fusion of pink natural stone and mosaic details—each space brimming with the playful energy that Ellidy Pullin is known for.
To balance this vivid palette, Jace Space opted for understated yet elegant fixtures in our brushed nickel tapware, allowing the vibrant accents to shine without distraction.
“The really good thing about ABI is everything is super cohesive,” says Declan.
“We tend to use brushed nickel across most of our projects because we find it to be super timeless.”
The unique home decor is an artful mix of vintage charm with something you’d find in a modern luxe coastal home. The olive boucle Camo Replica sectional anchors the living area, while bold linens and eclectic accents inject a fresh, contemporary feel into the original architecture, striking a balance between old and new.
Terrace on Palmy stands as a testament to the transformative power of thoughtful design. What was once a run-down second-storey apartment on one of the Gold Coast’s most coveted streets is now a sought-after Airbnb, celebrated for its quirky character and effortless style—a sentiment true to the streets of ‘Palmy’.
“The most rewarding part about probably all of our projects is when we get to deliver a unique and beautiful space to clients,” says Declan.
